Planning an Anguilla Trip: What to Know
Anguilla rewards travelers who slow down. There's no big international airport, so most people fly into St. Maarten and connect by ferry (about 20 to 25 minutes) or a short interisland flight. Our planner accounts for that transfer time when you're mapping out arrival and departure days.
Five to seven days is the sweet spot. Any shorter and you'll spend a disproportionate chunk of the trip in transit; any longer and you'll have covered the island's short list of beaches more than once, which honestly isn't a bad thing given how good they are.
Shoal Bay and Meads Bay are the two beaches everyone should build a day around, but don't skip a lazy afternoon at a beach bar in Sandy Ground. Anguilla has almost no nightlife scene and very little to do in the conventional sense, and that's the point.
Dry season (December through April) brings the best weather and the highest prices. If budget matters more than guaranteed sun, late spring is a reasonable compromise before hurricane season ramps up in June.
